Abstract

This study aimed to compare MENTAL HEALTH among remarried SHAHED SPOUSEs and non-remarried SHAHED SPOUSEs and determining the effectiveness of CBT cognitive behavioral therapy on their MENTAL HEALTH components. The research design, in part one of the study, was comparative, and the ‘pretest-posttest’ research design with control group was used for part two. The population of the study included all women who remarried and those who did not remarry in Tonekabon province. The sample in this study included 100 women who were selected based on simple random sampling, and Goldberg’s MENTAL HEALTH Questionnaire (GHQ) was conducted on these samples. The T-test and Covariance Analysis were used to test the hypotheses of the study, and the data were analyzed using the SPSS software. The research findings showed that there was no difference between SHAHED SPOUSEs who remarried and those did not remarry in terms of MENTAL HEALTH before the treatment. The results also showed that cognitive behavioral training was effective on MENTAL HEALTH components of SHAHED SPOUSEs who remarried. Cognitive behavioral training was also effective on health components among spouses who did not remarry.
