Abstract

This research has been conducted with the aim of examining the role of urban area on the daily life of the homeless people in Tehran. The research method is mixed with a semi-structured interview framework designed on the base of the theory of Everyday Life of Goff man and the urban ecology approach. The collected data from the qualitative section are presented using interview, observation and content analysis. In the quantitative part of the research, a questionnaire was designed based on this theory and the information was gathered by the researcher in an interview form. The method of data analysis is presented statistically in the form of descriptive and inferential tables. The results show that, human-made Environments provide the context for distortion and disturbance more than natural Environments, and migration as an important factor in the transfer of different subcultures to metropolitan areas, has an important role. Immigration also shows a meaningful relationship with Homelessness; therefore, social deprivation rates and social support can be predisposing factors for Homelessness that are associated with imbalance in the destination community for immigrants.
