Abstract

This study was a cross-sectional study to determine the level of AWARENESS of people in Germi (Mugan) about AIDS. In this study, using Cochran formula a sample size of 378 subjects was selected by stratified sampling method.Data were gathered by a questionnaire and were analyzed using SPSS version 20 based on statistical methods in accordance with the hypotheses, including the Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test and F-test and multiple regression.Research findings suggest that there is a direct relationship between SOCIAL CAPITAL, age, and the AWARENESS of AIDS. There is an inverse and significant relationship between RELIGIOSITY and AWARENESS of HIV and finally there is direct and significant relationship between sex, marital status and economic status of people with AIDS AWARENESS.The results showed that 25.9% of AWARENESS of AIDS is in high level, 61.9% moderate, and 12.2% is in low level. The highest level of AWARENESS is about the transmission of AIDS with 56.6% and lowest about the signs and symptoms of AIDS with 7.1%.
