Abstract

IN FRENCH: Cet article a pour objectif d’étudier deux oeuvres de deux écrivains européens du XXème siècle au point de vue comparatif; l’une est une pièce de théâtre Rhinocérosécrite par Eugène Ionesco et l’autre, un roman, l’Aveuglement de José Saramago.Cet article cherche à mettre en évidence les différences et les ressemblances de ces deux oeuvres. Il cherche en outre à trouver les points communs des deux principaux personnages qui expérimentent chacun sa propre solitude.Cet article montre l’illustration de l’insolite dans un monde familier, la prolifération, la métaphore et le monstre: autant de thèmes qui appartiennent aux registres du fantastique et du merveilleux, mais que les écrivains les mettent au service d’une parabole philosophique et politique. In English:This article aims to study two works of two European writers of the twentieth century in comparative perspective; one of them is a play "Rhinoceros" written by Eugene Ionesco and the other one is a novel, "Blindness" by Jose Saramago.This article seeks to highlight the differences and similarities of these two works. It also seeks to find common points of the two main characters who each experiment his own loneliness. This article shows the unusual image in a familiar world, proliferation and metaphor, all of these themes belong to the category of the fantastic and extraordinary, but the writers use them serving of a philosophical parable and policy.
