Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to study the ways of sharing and differentiating the Cataloging of manuscripts and lithographs in five major Iranian libraries and the feasibility of uniformizing the Cataloging of manuscripts and lithography. Methodology: This research is descriptive-analytic. The information was collected, categorized, analyzed and concluded using a check list and interviews with cataloging specialists. Findings: The amount of subscription elements in the manuscripts and lithographs lists with the elements of the check list is 75 elements (76. 5%) and the degree of their differentiation 23 elements (23. 4%). Therefore, the percentage share of the elements of the catalogs of manuscripts and lithographs of these libraries with the elements of the check list is greater than the percentage of their differentiation. Conclusion: The uniformization of the Cataloging of manuscripts and lithographic printing is possible, and it is possible to design and set up the worksheet of cataloging common catalog, in such a way that the 75 common elements contained in both the worksheets without interference and the 23 elements of differentiation with the change in their title and, possibly, Some of them merged into others in a common catalog of manuscripts and lithographs.
