Abstract

The study aims analyze factors of economic Corruption in the Islamic Republic of Iran from the perspective of Political Economy. The main question is raised that what are the reasons or factors of the Iranian economic Corruption? What are the most important political and economic components? Which institutions can affect the Corruption? In this regard, after addressing the conceptual and theoretical underpinnings as well as theories of Corruption, this question was answered through a survey of experts including academics, institutional experts and managers. Kendall’ s W. concordance coefficient as well as data analysis have been used in this article in a bid to examine elites’ consensus on the reasons of (economic) Corruption. Findings of the study indicate that the structure and pattern of governing Political Economy on national economy as well as the Iranian society have been effective roles in creating and maintaining the Corruption in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
