Abstract

The purpose of the present article was to check the psychometric properties of the SELF-WORTH scale. The sample consisted of 200 college students in Esfahan University. Contingencies of SELF-WORTH Scale and COLLECTIVE SELF-ESTEEM Scale were used in this research. Alpha coefficient showed a acceptable RELIABILITY for the SELF-WORTH Scale. Also the result of the study revealed a significant relationship between the Contingencies SELF-WORTH and the COLLECTIVE SELF-ESTEEM. The results also showed that all seven subscales have a significant relationship with SELF-WORTH score. Factor analysis indicated that seven sub-scales of instrument can be reduced into two factors which reflect Construct VALIDITY (these two named Internal and External SELF-WORTH). In sum the results showed an acceptable RELIABILITY and VALIDITY for SELF-WORTH scale.
