Abstract

Background: SELF-EFFICACY points out that one’s beliefs and perceptions from own abilities, sense of competence in own abilities in various areas of life (job, school, interpersonal relationships etc.) and overcoming probable problems. Based on previous studies, SELF-EFFICACY is one of the factors affects anxiety. Current study conducted with the aim of studying the relationship between SELF-EFFICACY, mood and trait anxiety.Materials and Methods: The study population included all police officers of Urmia city in West Azarbaijan Province that 300 cases were selected by cluster sampling method and Sherer General SELF-EFFICACY questionnaire and Spielbereger MOOD-TRAIT ANXIETY questionnaire (1983) were completed by participants.Results: The results showed that SELF-EFFICACY has significant and negative relationship with both variables of trait anxiety (P<0.0001, r=-0.68) and mood anxiety (P>0.001, r=-0.76).Conclusion: The current study revealed that there is a negative relationship between SELF-EFFICACY and MOOD-TRAIT ANXIETY, so that individuals with high SELF-EFFICACY has low anxiety and vice versa.
