Abstract

This article deals with the relationship of the sport of SOCCER with other cultural phenomena and social problems in Iran society. The aim of the researcher is evaluating the role, function and place of SOCCER sport in the society of Iran. From the methodological point of view, the present research is based on the theoretical analysis of the necessary benefits of the sport of SOCCER within the Iranian society. In this way, the two Libraries and document methods have been helpful in gathering data for the present research. The result is that the attraction of the tribes into the national society by SOCCER and the involvement of the women in the general fields of the society are among the functions of it which give IDENTITY. The sport is the place for the emergence and the appearance of behaviors and VIOLENCE which are not normally allowed. SOCCER is inexpensive, simple, exciting and exhilarating for people. From this perspective, SOCCER has an educational function for teaching the rules of the social life, the ways of adaptation in the society and the traditional boundaries.
