Abstract

The present article is based on a detailed study conducted with the aim of considering factors affecting VALUE orientation (physical / metaphysical) of Azad university students with focus on Ronald Aynglhart's theory. In order to gain this purpose, the study was done on a sample of 288 B.A. students of Islamic Azad university of Arak, who were selected through cluster sampling method. In this research, questionnaire based survey method was conducted to gather data. To analyze the raw data, the descriptive and inferential statistics was utilized including, X2 test, lambda and C dependency coefficient. The findings of the study are summarized as follows: (a) Combined VALUE orientation is dominant among university students; (b) There is a meaningful and relatively strong relationship between sex and orientation VALUE; (c) There is a meaningful and relatively strong relationship between religiousness and VALUE orientation; (d) There is a meaningful and relatively strong relationship between LIFE SATISFACTION rate and VALUE orientation; (e) However, the results of the study indicated a meaningful weak negative relationship between the rate of using SOCIAL MEDIA among university students and their VALUE orientation; (f) There is a meaningful weak relationship between location and VALUE orientation; (g) finally, there is a meaningful but weak relationship between social class and VALUE orientation.
