THE EFFECTS OF EIGHT-WEEKS LOCAL RHYTHMIC TRAININGS ON THE DYNAMIC BALANCE OF MENTALLY DISABLED ELEMENTARY FEMALE STUDENTS

Abstract

 The aim of this research was to study the effects of eight-weeks local RHYTHMIC TRAININGs on the DYNAMIC BALANCE of mentally disabled elementary female students. For this purpose, 20 accessible mentally disabled students were studied in two control and experimental groups. The duration of experimental work was three sessions per week throughout eight weeks, which was composed of 45-60 second RHYTHMIC TRAINING in ILAM. The subject's DYNAMIC BALANCE was evaluated by Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT) at pre and post test. The results of dependent T-test indicated a significant progress in both groups (p=.000) but the differences between groups were not statistically significant (p=.859). Based on these results, although elementary level is an appropriate period for balance function growth, the participants in the local RHYTHMIC TRAININGs were not able to use such a potential.
