Abstract

TOURISM in Mazandaran is considered as an ideal strategy for development. Statistics show revenue from TOURISM is five times more than the provincial budget. However, according to the anthropological view, we find that TOURISM as an economic development is not successful. Maine profits of TOURISM belong to exotic investors, so the local economy is not to be concerned. On the other hand, native subsistence practices are declining through working in the TOURISM sector. The failing agriculture and dying crafts and folk arts are the most important cases. In present article economic impacts of TOURISM in Mazandaran is studied by anthropology approach.
