Abstract

SECURITY in urban areas is among the basic needs of the CITIZENS having different objective and subjective aspects. The researcher here tries to focus on the subjective aspects to be known as sense of SECURITY. Development and enhancement of the urban areas identity is one of the most important objectives of the urban planners which can pave the ground for the social cooperations and supervisions. The present study tries to explore the effects of the urban area identity on the CITIZENS’ sense of SECURITY. 384 of CITIZENS constituted the statistical sample of the study. Questionnaire was used to collect the required data. Analysis of the data demonstrated that there is a significant relationship between the sense of SECURITY and urban area identity.
