Abstract

This study aims to investigate the roots and causes of violent behavior among secondary school STUDENTS in Azarshahr city. This study was conducted using the survey method and questionnaires. The statistical population of the study includes all the high school STUDENTS in2010-2011 school year. They were 3183 STUDENTS from whom343 ones were chosen using cluster sampling and Cochran formula.Test correlation results show that there isa positive correlation between the all independent variables (failure, absence of parents, SOCIAL LEARNING, disciplinary practices, mass media, parents’ VIOLENCE, and thecontaminated environments)and the dependent variable(violent behavior). The results of this study indicate that violent behavior of the high school STUDENTS in Azarshahr city was mostly due to some problems such as much more emphasis on learning, neglecting the education, weakness in the constructive interactions of family and school and the life atmospheres of STUDENTS.
