Abstract

The present study aims to identify factors which are related to SOCIAL ANOMIE of Ardabil suburb residents. SOCIAL CONTROL, CULTURAL POVERTY and THE CULTURE OF POVERTY are independent variables of this study. The main variable of this study is SOCIAL ANOMIE of suburb residents. The statistical population includes 10698 families of whom 371 families were chosen based on Cochrane formula and systematic random sampling method.This study is a survey and the measurement tool is correlation. The data collection was based on researcher-made questionnaire. The validity of the questionnaire was calculated with content validity and reliability was calculated with Cronbach’s alpha. The results of the study show that the degree of SOCIAL ANOMIE depends on CULTURAL POVERTY, THE CULTURE OF POVERTY and SOCIAL CONTROL and there was not a significant relationship between gender of suburb residents and the degree of anomie. According to step by step multiple regression results, THE CULTURE OF POVERTY and SOCIAL CONTROL could explain 11 percent of the changes in anomie of suburb residents.
