Abstract

Knowing the CLIMATE conditions is one of the most important sources needed for TOURISM. On the other hand, recognizing the properties of every single of the regions from the CLIMATE-TOURISM conditions viewpoint is so difficult and time-consuming. Therefore, using the new classification methods is essential. One of the common methods of classification is CLUSTERING ANALYSIS, which has many applications in the CLIMATE studies. Another method used to interpolating is DISCRIMINATE ANALYSIS. in order to present a new approach to TOURISM CLIMATE studies., this study used 5 indices including PET, PPD, TSENS, PMV and TCI and also monthly data from synoptic stations of beaches in Southern Iran during the statistical period between 1989 and 2008, as well as cluster and DISCRIMINATE ANALYSIS. The results show that there have 4 CLIMATE-TOURISM regions in study area. As well as the results of DISCRIMINATE ANALYSIS show that agreement with CLUSTERING ANALYSIS in 98 percent.
