Abstract

 Introduction: Improperly dressed, a destructive factor in mental health, is as a social problem. This phenomenon needs to be carefully assessed and investigated.This study aimed to investigate the causes of tendency to the improperly dressed (Bad Hijabi) from the GIRL STUDENTS’ PERSPECTIVE.Methods: The cross-sectional study was conducted on 100 girl students of Babol University of Medical Sciences. Data were collected using researcher-made questionnaire and its validity and reliability was confirmed by a pilot study and test-re-test. Data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistical methods.Findings: According to the study, four factors such as modish 51%, attracting the attention of others 45.3%, friend’s selection 43% and religious beliefs 39.5% were the highest propensity to improperly dressed from the GIRL STUDENTS’ PERSPECTIVE.Students mentioned the other effective factors tending to improperly dressed such as: the cultural poverty, lack of family supervision and stubbornness because of the university excessive severiety. The students proposed the strategies such as talking about woman’s great personality and her role in the family, expressing the harms of improperly dressed, its following the growth of prostitution and determination the specific mode and uniform for universities.Conclusion: The results showed that the priority strategies for removing the improperly dressed are including: the increase of the knowledge of students through holding the philosophical education workshops for Hijab and its importance, holding the answer- question meetings about the advantages of Hijab and disadvantages of Bad Hijabi, decreasing the severity of color selection and of dress and also encouraging to keep the Hijab in the commands of Islam.
