Abstract

Introduction: MARRIAGE is a critical step towards the achievement of individual and collective human perfection. HOMOGAMY is a common feature advised for the MATE SELECTION in religion and PSYCHOLOGY. The aim of this study was to investigate the rank of HOMOGAMY in Fegh-h and compare it with PSYCHOLOGY.Methods: This analytical and documental study was conducted through referring to the scientific and religionious documents such as released articles and Fegh-h books.Findings: The results showed that first, the HOMOGAMY is an acceptable theory among psychologists.second, religious HOMOGAMY is paid attention more than other aspects of HOMOGAMY by the psychologists. On the other hand, Kufwiat in Fegh-h is more slightly similar to the HOMOGAMY in PSYCHOLOGY and Fegh-h does not permit the MARRIAGE with a person who is not considerd as a religious Kufw.Conclusion: A comparison between psychologists and jurists ideas indicated firstly that the study of psychologists confirmed the importance of Kufwiat especially faith one and mentioned the useful works. Second, the Shiite jurists have suggested that some of the criteria can be ignored provided that the main criteria are fulfilled, while this prioritizing was not seen in the study of psychologists.
