Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy on Happiness and social desirability of women in seminary. The research procedure was semi - experimental pattern with pre- test and post test with control group. Statistical sample was 30 women in seminary were selected by purposive sampling and were randomly assigned into two controls and experimental groups. then the experimental group participated in 8 sessions for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Both groups completed Acceptance Oxford happiness questionnaire and Social Desirability scale (SDS) in pre-and post test. At the end, the results between 2 groups were compared through multi- covariate analysis. The results showed a significant increase in the mean of all of the variables in post test in the experimental group (p<0.0005).The findings of this research, confirmed the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy on Happiness and social desirability in women in seminary, and it could be effective for determining treatment planning for such women.
