Abstract

Purpose: The present study aimed to investigate the perceptions and attitudes of teachers, experts and faculty members toward the curriculum of global citizenship education in elementary schools of Iran for designing a model. Method: This research was based on exploratory mix method approach with the participation of 34 faculty members, experts and teachers, whose selection, alongside another 387 elementary school teachers, was carried out in Tehran. The purpose of the qualitative stage was to explore the categories related to the curriculum of global citizenship education and to provide a basis for designing a questionnaire and a conceptual model for the quantitative phase. The analysis of structural equations in the quantitative phase provides a 12-factor model that illustrates the relationship between the discovered factors. Result: The results of this study describe and delineate the factors and categories of the exploratory model and its solutions and findings.
