Abstract

Supply and procurement chain is considered as one of the key components of the organization's logistics system and its improvement can have a significant impact on the improvement of the performance of Procurement Systems. Therefore, the present research has identified and evaluated the fundamental challenges in Procurement Systems of a defensive organization in our country. This is a applied research that its method is sequential blended (qualitative-quantitative). The model developing is done qualitatively through theme analysis. Data resources of this phase consists of existing literature of Procurement Systems and supply chain. Data gathering is done until accessing theoretical saturation. The model testing is done quantitatively through confirmatory factor analysis through LISREL software. The population of interest in the second phase consists of 150 persons of logistics and finance managers and employees and purchasing personnel of the studied defensive organization which have been selected randomly as statistical sample. Data collection tool has been a researcher-made questionnaire that was used for the survey. The findings showed that the main challenges facing defensive organizations can be categorized into three general categories: Disruptions, Sanctions and purchasing requirements. Removing these challenges can facilitate improving of Procurement System and supply chain of the organization.
