Abstract

Recent studies put emphasis on the structure of expert’s characteristics in the effectiveness of scanning the strategic environment in national level. In the same vein, this paper aims to prioritise characteristics for experts of scanning network to better recognize strategic challenges in each STEEP factor. In this applied research, 34 questionnaires are gathered from professors and experts of strategic management; data analysis is conducted by means of Friedman Test and SPSS software and the results show five high-priority characteristics for EXPERT NETWORK in each environmental factor of STEEP. Consequently, top priority in each area is as follows according to the results: Society (Futurist), Technology (Scientists and Researchers), Economy (Government economic executives), Politics (Politicians), Environment (Ecologists and Researchers), Military and Security (senior military commanders). Finally, this research answers a practical question in EXPERT NETWORK method for environmental scanning.
