Abstract

Love of Imam Hussein is among people of southern parts of Iran including Shias and Sunnis. Therefore, every year, they display this love by attending and commemorating the mourning for that Imam. The poets of Hormozgan have also reflected their love and compassion for describing the prophet’ s family specially Imam Hussein (PBUH) in its most glorious and beautiful manner. Of course, in this way, Shia people and poets have not been the only ones who have shown their respect for Imam Hussein and his way. There have also been Sunni Poets who have chosen their themes based upon the compassion for that Imam and the event of Ashura. In Hormozgan province, Molla Nami Fotuhi, the Sunni poet of the 1th century of Bastak was the first Hormozgani poet who versified elegies for the death of Imam Hussein. The written documents and background of Hormozgan province went back to 2th century if this respect. The present paper, through the method of content analysis and library research intends to show and indicate the love, respect and compassion of Sunni Poets towards the event of Ashura and the elevated character of Imam Hussein (PBUH) because the love for the prophet (PBUH) and his purified family has been interwoven with the life of Sunni Poets in a way that our Sunni brothers in their Friday prayers always remember them. They call Ali (PBUH), Asadollah AlGhaleb, and they call Imam Hassan (PBUM) and Imam Hussein (PBUH) as Seyed Al-Shabab Ahle-Al Jannat (The Lord of the Youth of Heaven).
