Abstract

Dear Editor-in-ChiefIn recent years, the prevalence of obesity in childrenand adults has been increasing around the world. Various factors such as genetic, environmental andphysiological factors can be effective in determinatethe Body Mass Index (BMI). These factors affectthe absorption and removal of energy in the bodyby the effect of physiological mediates (1). Temperament (Mezaj) is a construct of geneticsandenvironmental style. Based on Persian medicine, temperament includes two main subscales consistof “ warm or cold” and “ moist and dry” andcombination of them. Temperament is a potentialfactor determining individual differences in weightgain (2, 3).
