Abstract

EPISTEMOLOGY, had never been regarded as an in defendent subject before Kant, and it was only after him, that it, became a separate branch and a subject for philosophical discussions, ,in the. Islamic, philosophy, nevertheless the main principles of Epistimology ,had been, discussed implicitly. within other discussios. The present essay, starting, from an explenation of analytic argument about realistic theory of knowledge" goes on with the exposition of three theorms among theologians and philosopher of Islam about the nature of knowledge. The first discussed theory sees knowledge as the mere relation between subject and object, and the second states, that knowledge is an idea of the object in the mind of man, though not as a perfect idea, but as an approximate form; this theorm is called "The theory of shades", i.e. relativism theory in the end, the chosen theory of Islamic philosophers which is called the theory of MENTAL EXISTENCE.fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank"> MENTAL EXISTENCE./a> that is the CORRESPONDING THEORY of knowledge is discussed mi the one chosen by Islamic philosophers
