Abstract

Mustapha Wohbi Atal (1899-1949) is renowned as a great poet, an intellectual and a man of vast erudition. For a long time he had taken a particular interest in Persian literature. Equally he had translated KHAYYAM"s RUBAYYAT from Persian to Arabic. It is noteworthy that this translation was the first Arabic version of the RUBAYYAT. Besides this immense contribution, he was extremely interested in the philosophy of KHAYYAM as well as his personality and he had written a number of essays on these subjects. Arrar"s endeavor has proved to be an important turning - point in drawing the attention of jordianian to these masterpieces. The purpose of the reseacher is to conduct a painstaking research on these works is such a way as to make it take it"s place among other similar researches.
