Abstract

Technological aspects of ancient metallurgy within overall study of the Iranian Prehistoric cultures are very important. In this article after a brief outline of the first appearance of metal using in the Iranian plateau, the history and general trend of metallurgy in the North Central Iran are studied in detail. In the last section, on the basis of the new excavated data from the Sagzabad excavation seasons of 1997-1999, technological aspects of metallurgy has been analysed by using LABORATORY TECHNIQUES.such as mineralogy during Late Bronze and Early Iron Ages (ca. 2100-800 B. C.).
