Abstract

Objective: This study aimed at extracting indicators of ACCESSIBILITY quality evaluation in AGE-FRIENDLY CITY for seniors with physical disabilities and assessing them in the CHAHAR BAGH-E ABBASI STREET OF ISFAHAN.Methods: Being descriptive-analytical, the present research employed library and field studies for collecting data. First, we extracted the most important indicators related to ACCESSIBILITY quality. Some indicators were assessed by questionnaires. Other indicators were evaluated based on the relations defined by the authors and according to standards. In the end, SPSS was used to assess the degree of desirability of all indicators.Results: The participant rated access to public conveniences with 82% desirability rate, access to rest and sitting areas with 78%, and passable sidewalks with 82%, as the best indictors, while pedestrian crossings with 13% desirability rate, buildings entrances in terms of standard steps and ramps with 31% and vehicles' passing and parking in sidewalks with 32%, as the least required indicators in this street.Conclusion: The participant’s complaints about the blocking of sidewalks be vehicles, inconvenience and disturbances. So, it seems it is necessary to pave the way for having age-friendly cities.
