Abstract

Aim and Background: Sexual subjects are an important part of human health and should be addressed in numerous Sexual consoling needs of MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION (MI) patients are frequently overlooked by nurses Objective: this study is cross sectional analytic one with aim of study of attitude of coronary nurse toward sex education and their knowledge toward SEXUAL ACTIVITY in MI patient and their husband in 2007. Method and materials: in this cross sectional and analytic study 300 nurses of cardiac wards of KMU hospitals in 2007 were participated. Data were collected using two researchers - made questionnaire to ass attitude and knowledge of nurses. Data were analyzed by SPSS 11.5 soft ware and using t - test and ANOVA.Finding: results of this study regarding to the knowledge of nurses showed that, total Mean (SD) score of knowledge was 11.26 (6.4), and nurses got 54 percent of total score of knowledge. The mean (SD) of attitude score was 68 (10.9). And the total score of attitude was 76 percent. The correlation between total score of knowledge and attitude was positive and significant. (r=0.66, p=0.0001).Conclusion: regarding the results, knowledge of nurses in this area was not enough, but the attitude of them was optimal so we can increase the knowledge of nurses with planning of educational courses and they can help the patient in this area.
