Abstract

Irregular distribution of precipitation both in time and place in arid and semi-arid areas causes distructive floods and leads to loss of surface water. Thus, a proper way of using floods is to control them and prevent water from being wasted. Furthermore, determining a suitable site for proper use of overland flow is one of the most important factors in the success of rainwash spreading projects. On the other hand, determining the suitable places by using the traditional and common methods is difficult and causes inaccurate results. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can enhance the value of geospadal infornation by overlaying different layers in various models efficiently, and accurately in SITE SELECTION projects.
