Abstract

NON-HODGKIN'S LYMPHOMA is the third most common cancers in children. In the present study to determine pathological and clinical features of this cancer, we reviewed records of 84 Cases of NON-HODGKIN'S LYMPHOMA who were admitted to Aliasghar and Bahrami children hospitals from 1989 to 1996. 59% of cases had small noncleaved cell (SNCC) subtype of disease. 15% were lymphoblastic and 5% diffuse large cell subtype. The most prevalent primary sites were abdomen and lymph nodes. The most prevalent symptoms were abdominal mass (34%), abdominal pain(37%) and cervical lymphadenopathy (26%). Over half of our patients were small noncleaved cell subtype, and further studies should be done to find out reasons for this unusual finding.
