Abstract

The aim of this study was to design a model of football development in Iran with an emphasis on the preconditions of the presence of Female spectators. This study was developmental in terms of aims and exploratory in terms of strategy that was conducted with a qualitative method. The population included professors and elites in sport management who were selected by purposive and snowball sampling methods and underwent semi-structured interviews. Based on the grounded theory, analysis and coding of the data were conducted in three stages, and 5 participants confirmed the validity and reliability of the coding by verifying the findings of the study. The results showed that the model was composed of three parts. At the first level of the model, 10 categories affected the preconditions of the presence of Female spectators in Iran football stadiums. In the second part of the model, the preconditions for the presence affected likelihood of the maximum presence of the spectators and fans. At the third level, the maximum presence influenced the development of football in Iran. The research findings help sport managers and officials in Iran football sector to provide the preconditions for the presence of Female spectators in football stadiums so that international football development in Iran can be accelerated and facilitated.
