Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency and sensitivity analysis of Iran Olympic federations. The present study was a type of descriptive and retrospective in which the data were collected with the field method. The statistical population included 25 Olympic federations of the country. Due to the low number of the population, census sampling method was used. To determine federations’ evaluation indices, the Balanced Scorecard model was used and in order to determine efficiency of federations, DEA model was applied. Chi-square test was used to determine the input or output of the evaluation indices; output-oriented CCR and BCC methods were used to determine the efficiency of federations and to identify dysfunctional federations; sensitivity analysis test was used to determine the most desirable input and output. SPSS and DEA Solver software were used to analyze the data. The results showed that 17 federations were efficient in both CCR and BCC patterns and scale efficiency and 6 federations were inefficient in both CCR and BCC models. Possessing large resources to produce outputs increases the size of the organization and, on the other hand, low resources to produce outputs leads to small size organizations and both cases causes inefficiencies in federations.
