Abstract

This paper aims to show how, in the mystical journey, “ time” can promote a seeker’ s level of closeness to Allah, based on the Alawi Teachings in Nahj al-Balagha. Also, how Nahj al-Balagha as a rich source of Shia mysticism, approaches this issue. So far, no research has been done on this issue. This paper is descriptive and analytical research. The results show that the issue of time is visible in the monotheism reflections of Imam Ali (AS). Imam Ali (AS) orders seekers to pay special attention to the past and the learnings from it, and the present and taking advantage of its opportunities, and the future and the avoidance of long ambitions. The remarkable point is that Imam Ali (AS) does not limit intention to a specific time frame and has considered it to be present in all time frames.
