Title

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TESTS ONE -MILE RUN, QUEEN STEP AND NON -EXERCISE MODEL FOR MAXIMUM OXYGEN UPTAKE ESTIMATION IN PHYSICALLY ACTIVE STUDENTS

Pages

  85-96

Abstract

Cardiorespiratory preparation is one of the most important aspects of physical fitness is which has special importance in society, member's health, and in some exercise, too. The purpose this research is thus, to determine of relationship between aerobic tests of one mile run, QUEEN STEP and non exercise model for MAXIMUM OXYGEN UPTAKE estimation, among male students of physical education of university of Isfahan. This research is descriptive and correlative. Target population included of all male students of Physical Education Faculty of Isfahan University. The purposeful sample included 30 male active students, of 20-25 years old, who were available to participate in this research. First, some physical parameters, such as age (22±1/67), height (175±6/62 cm), weight (68/ 86±7/11kg) and body mass index (22/29±l/56 m/kg) were estimated. Then during two consequent weeks each of the subjects was tested on the basis of one mile run & QUEEN STEP tests for estimating V02max. It should be noted that the subjects had to fill a questionnaire about the physical activity rating (PA R) and the perceived functional ability for estimating V02max non exercise, just before taking these 2 tests. The results of data analyses showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between aerobic tests (one mile run and QUEEN STEP r=0/67, P<0/01, one mile run and non exercise model r=0/76, P<0/01, QUEEN STEP and non exercise model r=0/57, P<0/01) given the positive relationship found among the three tests, they could be used interchangeably. Therefore we can use these 3 tests instead of each other if it is needed.
