Abstract

Introduction: Mass media, as the information highway of all societies, and its role in the various cultures and dimensions of human identity, especially national identity, have been considered by the humanities-social sciences scholars. Due to the very rapid developments in the field of media technology in recent years, we can see the impact of this dramatic increase on national identity. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of mass media on national identity and the relationship between the above variables among the Arabic-language students and youth of Ahwaz city, in 2016. Method: This research is a correlation research. The statistical population of the study is about 400 between Arabic language students of Ahwaz city. The sample size is based on the Cochran formula, including 400 students, 215 male and 185 female students. The method is field study and the technique of data gathering is based on questionnaire. Validity of variables was evaluated by using formal factor and validity of variables by using Cronbach’ s Alpha coefficient and the result (0. 86) has been approved. The tests used in this research include Pearson correlations. Conclusion: The results of correlation analysis show that there is a significant relationship between using cybernetics and media with scientific, social, cultural, and national identity.
