Abstract

Introduction: Safety is a precondition for any social, economic, cultural and political development, and directly affects the level of developments in any society. Awareness of the status of the safety perception by the people in a community has an effective role in identification of the challenges and strategies for the development of a community and works to strengthen its infrastructure. Over the past few years, there have been various issues in the rural areas of Orumieh which have affected the level of security indicators in this area and this impact has been on various aspects of social safety and some part of these problems is due to neglect of effective indicators of this case. The present study examines the level of social safety with the indicators of human, ethical, economic and local safety, trusting on the police, interpersonal trusting, institutional trusting and military security in the villages of Dehestan and Bradost, rural district of Orumieh. Method: The present study is a descriptive-analytic method and it has a functional purpose. Data gathering is based on both library and field information being collected. The statistical society is about 11464 people of Bradost and Dehestan villages. Based on the Cochran formula, the number of 368 out of 8964people has been selected. In order to understand the relationship between variables, Spearman's Correlation Coefficient Test was used to identify the difference in security sense of the dual nominal variables from T test and multiple names variables from the F Test and finally, to determine the dimensions of social safety, we used one-variable T-Test. Findings: The findings of the research indicate that the dimensions of social safety considered the institutional trust index with the average (2. 99) ranked first and the moral safety index with the average (2. 65) in the eighth and lowest rank. This reflects the low and mediocre level of social safety among the villagers in Bradost and Dehestan. Conclusion: The social safety index, which is combined with its measured indicators, represents an average of 3. 10, which suggests that the villagers in the Bradost district have a relatively good sense of being secured, but they have very poor feeling of economic and moral safety in their society.
