Abstract

 The purpose of the this study is to investigate the factors underpinning the Adoption of Date Insurance in Kerman province (Bam). The study is based on a descriptive-correlational method and 2916 gardeners are considered as statistical society during 2016-2017. Using the Cochran formula, 225 gardeners are selected by systematic sampling. The content validity of the instrument is confirmed by a panel of experts, and its reliability after the preliminary test is estimated at 0. 8 using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Comparing the characteristics of the adoptive and non-adoptive gardeners using t and Mann-Whitney tests showe that there is a significant difference between the education level of two groups with 95% probability. Also, there are significant differences between adopters and non-adopters in terms of "relation with promoters and Insurance experts" and "participation in cooperatives"; however, there are not significant differences in terms of "participation in educational and promotional classes", "participation in local formations", " Participation in rural council decisions "and" Participation in constructive mobilization decisions ". The results of logistic regression showe that there are positive and significant relationships between the experience of gardeners, drought and Adoption of Insurance, but a significant negative correlation between loan reception and Adoption of Insurance by the gardeners. Prioritizing high income growers and raising awareness of the agricultural Insurance program can be effective in adopting Date Insurance.
