Abstract

The aim of this study was to predict social media addiction in Adolescent student based on depression and narcissistic personality by considering the mediating role of self-disclosure. The study was descriptive and correlational design and from the sample of correlation schemes and the statistical population included all male and female high school students in Tehran, from which 300 students were selected using multi-stage cluster method. Data were obtained through questionnaires of Social Network Orientation and Use (Momeni and Taghilo, 2016), Beck depression Inventory (1978), narcissistic personality (Raskin & Terry, 1988) and Virtual self-disclosure (Chelon, 1978). Data were analyzed by multivariate regression analysis in SPSS-20 statistical software. The findings showed that there is a significant effect between depression, narcissistic personality and self-disclosure with social media addiction (p=0/01). Also, the proposed model had a good fit ( 2/df=3/09, CFI=0/971, AGFI=0/926, GFI=0/973, RMSEA=0/083) and the results support the mediating role of self-disclosure in relation to narcissistic personality and self-disclosure and social media addiction.
