Abstract

Lullabies are considered as a branch of popular literature and are also a subcategory of children literature due to paying attention to children and their issues. Furthermore, Lullabies can be considered as the first child tune that has a long history since the genesis of humanity. The reflection of the political, cultural, religious, and social issues on Lullabies in protracted centuries has been clear; this can be the main factor for the maintenance of the Lullabies. The Lullabies content changes based on the issues of each age has caused the foundation of a suitable base for being aware of the dominated issues in the time of this sub-genre for that the social issues are not exceptional. The appearance of social issues in new Lullabies, of which the poets take the control, is more than the old Lullabies that the mothers had to sing. This has intensified the necessity to analyze the reflection of social issues on new Lullabies. This study aims to socially investigate the Lullabies of current age through a descriptive-analytic approach and to analyze the resulting effects on the Lullabies content.
