Abstract

This research which aims at studying how sexual problems affect DIVORCE phenomenon has been conducted over 63 men & 54 DIVORCEd women at Golestan province. To achieve this goal, previous researches were studied carefully and a question was prepared on the basis of related theories such as Functionalism & Social Exchange collecting data was performed through interview for finding out responses. According to the results, sexual problems are categorized in four groups of SEXUAL DEPRIVATION, RELUCTANCEOF SEXUAL, SEXUAL HARASSMENT and UNLAWFUL SEXUAL RELATIONS. Among these categories, UNLAWFUL SEXUAL RELATIONS on part of husbands & SEXUAL DEPRIVATION on part of wives are marked as most important factors affecting DIVORCE. Meanwhile the factors influencing sexual problems were divided into three social, psychological and physical groups, among which "one-sided intention of the men for satisfying their own needs", "repeated enquiry for establishing sexual relations", "demanding for variety" on part of men & "shame" on part of wives were playing the most effective roles in creation of sexual relations between the spouses. Sexual information & knowledge of the study group were mainly acquired through satellite, internet and friends. And father, mother & educational system played trivial role in this regard. Finally it can be judged that nontransmission of through models & values as well as non-conformity of SOCIALIZATION agents in the area of sexual issues, lead to ambiguity of the spouses or their lack of knowledge from each other, which eventually cause dissatisfaction of the spouses and dissolution of the families.
