Abstract

Given the role that tourism has played in the development of countries, it has been able to be considered as an issue in sustainable development. The various trends and branches that have been created in tourism show its importance in sustainable development. One of the trends in tourism is rural tourism. The role of tourism in rural development is essentially economic and is important for rural development. This article analyzes the effects of tourism on sustainable development indicators in Sistan villages. Due to the homogeneity of the rural community of Sistan region, a sample of 364 persons was selected for the study. The required data for the article were obtained in two stages according to the objectives and assumptions in two quantitative and qualitative methods. After analyzing the questionnaire in the villages, the results were as follows: sustainable development indicators were measured in the studied villages and the characteristics of each village were identified. Therefore, in terms of economic index, Qala-e-Noo village (attraction) is in a better situation than the others, and after that, Mullah Ali and Mahmoudabad villages have been located, and the situation of Khamak village is not suitable in terms of economic factor. In terms of cultural and educational factors, Mullah Ali and Firoozehi villages are in a better situation than other villages. Due to the selection of Sehkooh village as a model tourism region, it was found to hasve suitable conditions in terms of legal and political factors. In terms of space, apart from Mahmudabad village, other villages have suitable conditions.
