Pages

  1-11

Abstract

Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic incurable autoimmune disease of the central nervous system with unknown pathophysiology. Clinical manifestations of this disease are numerous and include sensory and motor defects, mental disorders such as Depression and anxiety. The more this disease affects their daily lives and abilities, the more they are exposed to suicidal thoughts. Suicidal Ideation refers to the existence of conflicting thoughts about the tendency to end one's life behavior. This study is a regular review study with the aim of investigating the factors related to Suicidal Ideation in people with MS. For this purpose, the international databases of PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and three domestic databases, including the scientific database of Jihad Daneshgahi, the database of Iranian journals and Iranmedex with the keywords Multiple Sclerosis, Suicidal Ideation, Depression, Thoughts of death and neurological disease, are examined. It can be concluded that by examining the factors related to Suicidal Ideation, especially Depression and correcting or modifying them, the prevalence of Suicidal Ideation and consequently suicide attempt in these patients can be reduced.
