Abstract

Increasing mobility and transport of people, goods, asset and information led to GLOBALIZATION of world. The GLOBALIZATION is an increasing process in all aspects of economic, social, cultural and political world issues. Each of these aspects is important in the URBAN development process; but the ECONOMY is much more important and more fundamental, as ECONOMY sectors have been the most important leading part in the GLOBALIZATION process. This is due to the GLOBALIZATION of the world that had its greatest impact on the world ECONOMY. Economic GLOBALIZATION requires closer economic integration of the world countries through increased flows of goods and services, asset and labor. Economic GLOBALIZATION led to fundamental changes in types and levels of everyday life, especially residents of the metropolitan areas. Therefore to achieve sustainable URBAN development, it is essential to come along with technological development and economic communications. The purpose of this study was to clarify the nature of economic GLOBALIZATION on sustainable URBAN development.
