Abstract

Background and Aim: Return and Craving after detoxification is one of the main concerns of researchers in the field of drug addiction. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of Behavioral Activation Treatment Interventions on the prevention of return and reduction of Craving for women dependent on drugs. Method: This semi-experimental study and its statistical population, all addicted women between the ages of 18 and 45, were dependent on all types of materials in Tehran. Using available sampling method, 30 women who had successfully completed the detoxification period were selected and divided into two experimental (15 subjects) and control (15 subjects) groups. The experimental group was treated for behavioral activation for 10 weeks and one week each week. The control group did not receive any treatment during this period. Subjects were evaluated by Gursky Prevention Prevention (1989) and Franken et al. Scale (2002), as well as pre-treatment urine tests, after treatment, and after completing the three-month follow up. The data were analyzed by repeated measure ANOVA. Findings and Results: The results of the tests showed that there was a significant difference between test and control groups in Craving and returning to the material at the level of 0. 01 in the post-test and follow-up phase. Also, the results showed that intervention in behavioral activation therapy is effective in decreasing Craving and preventing the return of addicted women.
