Abstract

The present study was conducted to investigate the relationship between the activities in Social Media and Social Anxiety, Loneliness, and Shyness of national team Athletes. The statistical population of the study consisted of all Athletes of national teams in Iran in different sports fields, who had personal accounts in the Instagram application. Due to hard and difficult access to these Athletes, at least 200 Athletes of the national team were selected as the study sample. The results of this study showed that, there is a significant relationship between the Athletes' activity in Instagram application with Social Anxiety, Loneliness, and Shyness. Therefore, observation of the activities of the Athletes in Social Media can explain some of their psychological problems.
