Abstract

Objective: Sport as a social concept and also regarding to its specific functions in various fields has attracted many researchers. One of the most important functions of this social phenomenon is the key role on establishment of social Health. This can be investigated through perception of sport participation experiences and structure of Health. Therefore, the objective of this study was to Understanding Female-Headed Single Parent`s lived experience regarding Health concept through Sport Participation. Methodology: this study was carried out by qualitative research and phenomenological approach. By using purposeful sampling 15 participants were selected and data was collected through phenomenological in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed using 7-step analysis method of Collaizzi. Results: Results showed that a Health concept by Sport-participation of Female-Headed Single Parent consists of mental, physical, social and moral Health functions. Conclusion: The Health functions encompass concepts and categories that represent the fact that Sport-participation for Female-Headed Single Parent creates Health experience with different features, in case of continuous sport participation; the functions will affect concepts and other features of Women’ s life.
