Abstract

Introduction& Objective: Nowadays Urban Governance has been proposed as the most effective method of urban management. Considering the importance of Urban Management as a basic precondition for good performance of cities and also the participation of people in the city as one of the most constructive features of Urban Governance to solve the problems of the city. This Article study this subject and focuses on the indicators of Urban Governance model, measuring the level of participation in Urban Management in District 5 of Tehran Municipality. Research Method: The research method is descriptive-inferential, Data were collected through field studies with observation and interview techniques have been used. According to the statistical population, 384 people were randomly selected to complete the questionnaire. T-test and ANOVA test were used to analyze the research hypotheses. Findings: Findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between citizen participation and the pattern of urban governance. this means that if urban managers act according to the model of urban governance, it will provide the necessary grounds for citizen participation and as a result, public welfare will increase. Conclusion: The results shows that the citizens in District 5 of Tehran Municipality are willing to participate in urban management, but there are no suitable conditions for participation.
