Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Shooting training on Aggression in Adolescent females. This study was a semi empirical research and design of it included pre-test, post-test with control group that it was conducted through a field survey. 30 female students (age: 16± 1. 1) were selected as convenience and purposive sample. They were divided randomly into experimental group and control group. The instrument of this study was Buss & Perry's (1992) Aggression questionnaire. The experimental group participated in Shooting training for 12 sessions (each 60 minutes) under a coach's supervision. After the last session the two groups engaged in post-test. The result of the two-way multivariate analysis of variance showed that Shooting training had a significant effect on Aggression, Anger, and verbal Aggression. It means that Shooting training led to a significant decrease in Aggression, verbal Aggression, Hostility and Anger in Adolescent females. Also, the result showed that Shooting training had no significant effect on physical Aggression. It seems that Shooting training has an atmosphere and characteristics that can produce calmness and reduce Aggression.
