Abstract

One of the main concerns of governments today is to have an efficient military force to increase their development and growth potential. In law enforcement and defense issues, the existence of capable border guards who can guard the country's borders is a matter of course. Therefore, it is necessary for the staff of the Mehran Border Regiment to have Operational readiness to perform their assigned tasks and important missions. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting the Operational readiness of the staff of the Mehran Border Regiment. In terms of its objectives, this study is of an applied research and in terms of its type it is considered as a qualitative study with an exploratory approach. The statistical population of this study includes 15 experts and specialists in the field of operations who have identified the factors affecting the Operational readiness of the staff of the Mehran Border Regiment through in-depth interviews. In this research, the census method has been used. In-depth interviews were used to collect the data; peer review methods and review by members (participants) have been used to ensure the validity of the research, and to determine the reliability of the test-retest was used. In this research, the theme analysis method has been employed. Findings showed that skill and technical abilities have the most impact and individual characteristics have the least impact on the Operational readiness of Mehran Border Regiment staff. The results show that personal characteristics, training, skills and technical, managerial and organizational, financial, infrastructure, intelligence and operational abilities, from the respondents' point of view, are among the factors affecting the Operational readiness of Mehran Border Regiment staff.
